My Philosophy

I believe dance is a language of movement that enables communication of ideas and emotions in a uniquely penetrating way.  Because dance requires the well-rounded involvement and investigation of the body, the mind, and the spirit, the human soul becomes increasingly informed throughout the progression of a dancer.

As I work to achieve my potential as a dancer, I also work to achieve my potential as a person; for how can I strive to be genuine, generous, and finely-crafted as a dancer without striving to be those same things while living the rest of my life?

Sharing with an audience the progress I have made as a dancer and a person is always a very special experience.  It is during these times that I am grateful for the gift I have been given and the  opportunity I have to communicate to others--human to human--if only just for awhile.

Dance is a language anyone can understand, making it a powerful vehicle for communication, for both the dancer and the viewer.  It needs to be taught, trained, performed, shared, appreciated, and expressed in all its many forms.
